Besides the Vezel, Honda’s booth at the Tokyo Motor Show includes the S660 Concept roadster, which previews a 2015 production model.
Featuring a mid-mounted 0.66-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, the S660 Concept is a modern reinterpretation of the Honda Beat. Honda says the S660 delivers “nimble and dynamic driving and outstanding stability”, thanks to its mid-ship layout.
Good news, since Honda seems determined to bring it to market. “This model embodies the freewheeling thinking of young Honda engineers, who want to make a cool car that is unique to Honda. Our engineers are devoting their passion and technologies to the development of this model,” said Honda Motor Company CEO Takanobu Ito.
A production model will target the Japanese kei-car market and will launch in 2015. Other exhibits at the Honda stand are the N-WGN kei-car, the NSX concept and the Dunk scooter.
