Seeking to offer the same product in very different markets is a reasonable objective for any product maker. To do so, you have to build and design your goods with a global audience in mind, which is what Ford is trying to do with the next generation Edge crossover that has been unveiled as a concept model at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

While identifiable as a member of the Edge crossover family, the study is more modern with bolder lines and a more aggressive front end hosting Ford’s razor-style grille piece.

Naturally, as a concept, the Edge comes with many trinkets guaranteed to capture the eyes of show-goers, but peel those away, and what’s left is the production car that will soon come into fruition.

The mid-size Edge slots between the compact Escape, called Kuga in Europe and other regions, and the bigger Explorer.
