Gran Turismo 6 players now have the chance to drive the all-new BMW M4, a car that was exclusively released for the game on Thursday.

You can get it in the form of a free download, if you complete a certain time trial event, and change its color to suit your taste. Modification options are available, though they don’t let you tinker with the forced induction, advanced suspension settings or the paint after you’ve acquired the car.

However, to my ears, it does not sound like BMW would really want it to, having no real depth or bass to the engine note, bringing to mind the kind of cutting machinery mentioned in the title.

It is better than others I’ve seen (and or heard), but it’s not a gratifying noise by any means – it may also be the car that’s now turbocharged and hence quieter and more muted; absent is the bark of the E46 M3

Check out the M4 being driven in a variety of gameplay videos posted after the virtual jump.
