Volvo has just released a teaser video for an upcoming concept, the XC Coupe. At a first glance, it seems very similar in frontal styling to what was revealed some months ago during another concept’s own presentation as being the next XC90.
This new one, however, as its name suggests, is a three-door SUV/crossover proposal that draws a lot of inspiration from the recognizable 480 model that the Swedish automaker made between 1986 – 1995, at least round the back.
The manufacturer itself is restrained in releasing statements about it, saying just that it’s “Following in the footsteps of the Concept Coupe,” and “here is the next chapter in Volvo‘s new design story.”
Whatever they plan to do with it, it’s a mighty-fine-looking tall vehicle with mild off-road capability and two doors which they will show in the metal for the first time at the North American International Auto Show, on January 13, though it will be detailed a few days prior to that.
