We have heard that Audi is looking for a different kind of a halo car than the R8 for its lineup in the guise of an A9 flagship model sitting atop the A8 luxury saloon, but as recently reported, the automaker’s head honchos have yet to decide what direction it will take.
Evidently, Patrick Bücker, a transportation design student from Germany’s Pforzheim University, has also come to know about Audi’s dilemma, and he has an answer for the A9, in the form of a futuristic concept named the Jetstream Quattro.
Bücker crafted a static scale model of his conceptual model, that he says, was visually inspired by classic horse-drawn carriages and modern-day business jets.
“At a first sight, it looks like a broken volume or two cars, but everything is connected with the body side where all the volumes are connected and intersect,” says Bücker. “As an homage to the coachman-seat, there is a carbon-fiber element in the front instead of the regular hood, which also shows Audi’s design theme to integrate the space-frame into the design.”
