If our spies are correct in their assessment that this is a Suzuki prototype, which they based on its typical Suzuki-style camouflage and the fact that it was followed around by the Japanese carmaker’s SX4, then what we have here is the brand’s upcoming production version of the iV-4 Concept.
Suzuki launched the iV-4 at last year’s Frankfurt Auto Show to prepare us for the arrival of a new compact SUV positioned between the aging Grand Vitara and the smaller Jimny, setting its sight on the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur.
The heavy camouflage doesn’t allow us to see how close or distant the production car is to the concept, but the SUV’s silhouette does match that of the iV-4.
It should also have similar dimensions to the study, which measures 4,215mm long by 1,850mm wide, with a height of 1,665mm.
It is possible that Suzuki will offer the compact SUV with both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive featuring the brand’s ALLGRIP system.
The Japanese company has confirmed that production of the as-of-yet unnamed SUV will commence at its Magyar facility in Hungary in 2015.
