If the Parrot Sumo Jumping drone previews the shape of future robots to come, then by gosh, they will look scary if you blow them up to a much bigger size, at least, and conjure up a mech war scenario to boot.
It is, as its name suggests, a drone that jumps, being operated via remote control, or rather smartphone control. It features a forward-facing camera, a sturdy construction, two oversized wheels and a spring-loaded mechanism that is able to launch it into the air, jumping close to a meter in height.
The designers even included two mean-looking eyes that flank the camera – they add a dash of personality to the design.
Seen here in a CNET video from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Sumo drone will make for a nice gift, if the price they announce for it is not ridiculous. If it’s too expensive, you can always order one of these instead.
