The Stig is the fourth-best known character of the Top Gear cast, and now he has taken part in Google’s mapping of their Dunsfold airfield track, at the wheel of a Mercedes-Bezn SLS AMG Black. Unlike other tracks that have been added to Google’s StreetView database, this set features the white Merc in pretty much all of the photos.
There’s even a video that shows how they did it, posted below, after the virtual jump.
The new series of the show, the 21st one since the 2001 revamp, will start airing on February 2 and the first episode may feature the trio of presenters’ voyage through the northern part of eastern Europe, allegedly on their way to Sochi, in Russia, where the Winter Olympic games are due to start very soon.
If you want to get a taste of what that eastern voyage will be like, check out the trailers released for the show earlier this week – they apparently burst at the seams with great humor and wittiness which surpasses the processing power of those who are not British, so you have been warned…
