We suspected Ford was going to give the Focus an Aston Martin-type grille for its mid-life facelift when we saw spy photos of the car, and it turns out we were right. Ford’s global C-segment car has been unofficially revealed in a set of photos that came up online, with the most striking styling change being the new face which reminds of the Ford Fusion (or Mondeo as it is known in Europe).
Just like the mid-size sedan and the facelifted Fiesta, the restyled Focus gets an Aston-esque grille (previously reserved to the Focus Electric and Focus ST) and a pair of slimmer, longer headlights, together with a creased bonnet.
The cars in the photos (the five-door hatchback and the Turnier estate) also feature smoked headlights and taillights, but we’re not sure whether this will be a standard feature or it will be reserved to top-spec models.
The changes are much less dramatic at the rear, where the taillights retain their shape but appear to be slimmer than before with different graphics.
On the inside, the center console gets a larger display and redesigned controls, while the steering wheel is also new. We’re expecting new infotainment systems to be available, but we won’t know for sure until Ford offers official details.
That should happen soon, as the facelifted Focus is slated to debut at the Geneva Motor Show early next month.
