Although it shares the platform with the seventh-generation VW Golf GTI, the new Seat Leon Cupra features considerably more power and gets standard features like the front limited slip differential and adaptive dampers that are optional on the German car.
Furthermore, the Leon Cupra is only £500 more expensive than a comparable Golf GTI in the UK, which should make it a no-brainer as far as I’m concerned.
Available in two power levels, the standard Leon Cupra with 261 hp (265PS) and the Leon Cupra 280 with 276hp (280PS), the Spanish hot hatch appears to offer a pretty good value for money.
The standard LSD makes it very efficient in corners, with Auto Express’ reviewer saying it’s a lot of fun to drive. The light but sharp steering further enhances the driving experience.
Furthermore, the Seat Leon Cupra is expected to be quite fast around the Nürburgring, with the lap time to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show. Scroll down to watch the review.
