As a car owner, you can really fall in love with any car, no matter how crappy it is, if you drive it for long enough and give it attention – there are dedicated fan clubs for all major brands and their specific models.
The Nissan 300ZX, however, has always been a car to stir the soul, for me, if not through its adequate but not extraordinary looks, then through the driving experience that it delivers (and factory turbocharging before it became mainstream); it also has a very nice driving position in stock form.
Joe Gomas’ 1990 Z32 model (referred to as JoZee) does not need too much in the way of explanations, and if you’ve seen a few of these cars before and know the shape, you’ll immediately spot the widebody kit.
What you don’t see, but is also very important, is the twin-turbo conversion kit, which is a shame, because the engine bay looks polished enough to impress anybody, even some judges…
The engine itself, a 3.0-liter V6, has been completely rebuilt with custom components, so it probably makes much more than the 330 PS it was rated at when new.
