The year 2013 could have been one of BMW M’s less than happy ones, as it was the time when they were phasing out the E90/E92 M3, its most important core product. However, even in spite of this, they recorded 14 percent higher sales, and the outgoing model sold well until the very end.

With M Performance models included too (that’s the M135i, M550d, X5 and X6 M50d), Motorsport GmbH shifted a total of 31,282 units in total. That almost puts it on par with Mercedes’ AMG division, which managed to sell literally hundreds more cars, for a rounder grand total of 32,200.

As mentioned on Bimmertoday, this year, with the introduction of several all-new models and the advantage of having refreshed several others recently (M6, M6 Gran Coupe and M5 LCI), sales should be even better.
