Breaking in a car to steal items left inside is one thing, but doing so in broad daylight, at one of the busiest intersections in Hollywood and wait for it – on a police car, all while a news station cameraman happens to be around and is filming you, is something that Sigmund Freud would likely refer to as completely looney.
This unbelievably brazen act took place on Hollywood Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon at around 1:00 pm with KTLA photographer Victor Vargas, who was on site shooting a video for an unrelated story, capturing the entire incident on film.
Vargas recorded the young man yelling, “I love Jesus Christ”, before smashing the windows of a parked –and…clearly marked- LAPD patrol car stealing a laptop from inside and then walking to a nearby kiosk to use it! The unnamed man even looked at the camera!
A Superman and a Darth Vader impersonator were also standing nearby, but they didn’t make use of their…imaginary super powers. Instead, Vargas called in the cops, who came in and swiftly apprehended the thief.
“I saw the whole thing,” the man dressed as Superman told KTLA5. “It’s not my job to jump in the middle.” However, as you can see from the following clip, the man of steel made sure to be in the shot for the television report…
