It seems that the Italians in the 1960s were simply not capable of producing an unattractive car. This 1968 Maserati Quattroporte with a quad-cam V8 displacing 4,136cc is yet another example of that brilliant design vibe that ultimately died out in the 1980s.
It’s a really pretty sedan of the classic kind; none of that sloped-back coupe roofline going on here. On the outside, this dark blue example that’s for sale in Germany looks very clean, though the interior does reveal its secret: it’s never been restored. The tan leather looks a bit tatty and there are other signs of wear, but that’s expected and even desirable in some circles…
The car comes with a (desirable) five-speed manual gearbox, 260 hp and a top speed of 230 km/h or 143 mph. It has disk brakes all round, power steering, air conditioning and electric windows for wen the AC fails on a sunny day.
Price, including VAT, is €40,000 or the equivalent of US$54,400 as seen on Mobile. Scroll down and check out the gallery below!
