Driving a car on a winding mountain road is a wonderful experience, almost mystical when done with a fast car on a road so twisty that it doesn’t allow you to even blink.

To find that perfect driving road, EVO’s Henry Catchpole drove a Jaguar F-Type V8S to Romania and its famous Transfagarasan, a 90-km (56-mile) road that crosses the Fagaras mountains (the highest of the Romania’s Carpathians), reaching a maximum altitude of 2,034 meters (6,673 feet).

You may have heard of this road from a 2009 episode of Top Gear, in which Jeremy Clarkson described it as the best road in the world. T

he people from EVO didn’t take Clarkson’s word for it and went to check that out for themselves. They also wanted to see whether rumors that Romania has a similar mountain road that climbs even higher are indeed true. Well…I’ll leave you now with Henry Catchpole and the roads themselves as they tell the story much better than I can. Enjoy!
