The M5, the E60/E61, was the last of its kind in the BMW hangar, with an engine that for the first time, put it on par with supercars of the day. However, despite the fact that it’s been off the production line for a few years now, it’s still a source of interest for enthusiasts and tuners alike. The latest to crop up is this G-Power M5 Hurricane RR Touring, a wagon accompanied by all sorts of scary figures.
The V10 engine has been twin-supercharged up to 820 PS (808 hp) and 790 Nm (582 lb-ft). Performance has therefore taken a turn for the even faster and the car now boasts a claimed top speed of 362 km/h or 226.5 mph.
Acceleration off the line isn’t that much better than stock, really, with a claimed 4.4 seconds (4.8 stock) to 100 km/h (62 mph), but it hits double the speed in 9.5 seconds (new F10 M5 sedan takes 11.7).
Keeping the lunacy on the road is an in-house G-Power G5-RS suspension kit that’s nine-way adjustable and brake kit with 6- and 4-pot calipers (front/back); they provide 1G-worth of stopping power.
Inside, there’s a unique multimedia system and a more powerful audio system, plus the integrated iPads and carbon fiber picnic tables in the rear – there’s even a screen that comes down from the (Alcantara-lined) headliner. The seats and steering wheel get a makeover too, as do nearly all of the interior surfaces.
