Kahn is making a pretty big statement with this heavily modified Defender dubbed ‘Chelsea Longnose’ that comes with a 495bhp V8 engine, as the British tuner is claiming that it’s “probably the fastest Land Rover on the planet”, which may hold true, but only if they’re excluding Range Rover-badged models.
We’re told that the V8 mill channels power to all four wheels through a 6 speed electronic gearbox and uprated diffs, while the tuning also includes a new race derived braking system.
The ‘Chelsea Longnose’ gets its name from the extended wheelbase and engine bay, while Kahn also added a new front bumper with integral LED lamps and sump guard, wide wheel arches housing a choice of 16-, 18- or 20-inch wheels, crosshair headlamps and a new X-Lander Grille.
Interior upgrades are said to include hand trimmed racing seats, sports steering wheel, drilled pedals and custom dials, plus optionally available integrated satellite navigation system, tweed trim detailing and a choice of luxury floor and headlining materials.
Kahn states that it will build only 49 UK examples of the Chelsea Longnose, with initial production to be based on the Defender 90, but it is considering a 110-derived variant as well. The base version carries a price of £89,950 (US$148,000 / €108,500).
