When he’s not shooting Gymkhana videos, Ken Block usually goes rallying with his co-driver Alex Gelsomino. Last year they participated in the Rally America series and nearly won it, had it not been for a massive crash at Lake Superior Performance Rally, the final event of the season.
It was a tumbling accident that happened because the two didn’t notice a clump of dirt on the side of the road and didn’t mention it in the pace notes. Due to two simple letters missing (“in”), Block and Gelsomino ended up cart wheeling down one of the final stages of the season, end over end, before coming to a stop against a tree.
Now they look back on the accident and tell what went through their minds as the car started rolling. The Ford Fiesta HFHV rolled about five times, losing parts in the process, but what do you think Ken Block did when it finally ground to a halt?
You’ll have to watch the video to find out from the man himself.
