The Land Rover Discovery turns 25 this year so the UK-based carmaker has marked the event by releasing the Discovery XXV Special Edition model. Launched in 1989, the Discovery (LR4 in North America) has been a successful model for Land Rover, with overall sales exceeding 1 million units.
Offering distinctive visual upgrades and premium interior, this limited series Discovery comes in a choice of four exterior colors, features commemorative badges and a cabin line with Windsor leather.
Available in Causeway Grey, Santorini Black, Fuji White and Indus Silver, the Discovery XXV Special Edition also features Narvik Black grille surrounds and mirror caps, as well as Dark Atlas features on the grille and fender vents. Other exterior touches include silver full-length roof rails, body-colored handles and a stainless steel bumper accessory tread plate.
The limited edition Land Rover Discovery features “XXV” badging on the front door and tailgate and rides on newly designed 20-inch five-split-spoke forged alloy wheels in a light polished-silver finish.
The interior builds on the Discovery’s luxurious HSE specification and has the fascia, instrument panel binnacle and door top rolls lined with Windsor leather. There are three interior leather options: ebony, cirrus or dual-tone ebony/cirrus. Other highlights include twist pile carpet mats and a leather-wrapped wooden steering wheel. Finally, the Discovery XXV Special Edition features discreet XXV embossing throughout the interior.
