One way to get people interested in electric mobility is to present, you know, interesting cars. Mahindra Reva, the EV division of India’s Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is attempting just that at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 where it is displaying the new battery-powered Halo Coupe Concept.
It might not have the best-looking fascia, but the rest of the car is actually not bad, with the two-door, two-seater sporting a 140hp electric motor that is said to allow the Halo to sprint to 100km/h (62mph) in under 8 seconds and reach a top speed of 160km/h (100mph). The car’s battery offers a driving range of around 200km or 124 miles.
Mahindra said that a production ready version of the Halo should go on sale in 2016 priced at around Rs. 30 – 35 lakhs ($48,000 – $56,000) in India, with the automaker also planning to offer the car in international markets.
