We have no idea when McLaren was originally planning to disclose the first full-body photos of the new 650S, but the team over at Jalopnik was tipped off about the release of two snapshots of the supercar on Twitter tonight.
Our first thoughts about the 650S? It looks like someone overlaid the front end of the P1 hypercar on the 12C, which I guess kind of makes sense in an odd way, as McLaren itself said that the 650S would slot between its two existing models.
Not much else is known about the 650S at this time, but as mentioned in our previous post, we suspect that the name refers to the output (650PS or 641bhp) of the modified powertrain sourced from the regular 12C, which sports a 625PS (616bhp) 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 connected to a 7sp dual-clutch transmission.
