The already ludicrous Audi RS6 Avant has just become even more insane, courtesy of a tune from ABT Sportsline that takes the standard model’s 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 from 552hp (560PS) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) to a stratospheric 720hp (730PS) and 920Nm (678 lb-ft) of peak torque for a top speed of 320km/h (199 mph).
To achieve these figures, ABT says it mounted a new control unit to the engine along with a specially adapted stainless steel exhaust system, including a Y-pipe and sport-type catalytic converter. The Germans claim that it delivers a “superb sound”, but we would like to hear it for ourselves…
With the “R” package, you also get a height adjustable spring kit and massive 22-inch ABT DR-style alloy wheels wrapped in Dunlop high-performance tires, and an assortment of aero parts made of exposed red carbon, such as the front spoiler lip with blades, air inlet covers, side skirt attachments with blades and a roof spoiler.
ABT addressed the interior as well, decorating the dashboard, center console and door panels with dark red carbon fiber trims and added carbon-shift paddles and LED-shifting lights to the steering wheel.
We’ll see the new ABT RS6-R for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show.
