The Renault Zoe is a pretty and fairly affordable electric car that was announce to be somewhat of a hit prior to hitting the European scene. Since it has, though, not that many have been sold, with numbers way below the Rhombus’ original estimates.

The UK was seen as one of the possible big markets for the Zoe, but not that much is happening the in terms of sales either. That’s why mere months after it was put on sale, they are adjusting the financial strings it comes attached with, in order to make it more of an enticing package.

In terms of finance deals, the Zoe, can be had for £189 per month (for 48 months with 7.02 percent fixed interest), if with a minimum advance of £1,000 has been paid. Add to that the lower monthly battery fee of £45 and the total monthly cost is £234.

A base Zoe starts at £13,995 with state incentives included, and in this way, it even undercuts some diesel rivals like the best-selling Ford Fiesta and costs a lot less to run per mile. However, with the extra monthly battery cost, it all kind of evens out, so it’s a matter of preference now, and obviously having somewhere to charge it.

They may add some more appeal to it, if the reported plug-in hybrid model materializes.
