Opel engineers packed their bags and headed to Sweden to evaluate the upcoming Adam Cabrio (to be sold as a Vauxhall in Britain), and especially how its electric folding canvas roof copes in extreme weather conditions.
Borrowing a page from Fiat with the 500C and Citroen with its DS3 Cabrio, the Adam employs a simple extended sunroof solution with the canvas top taking up all the space between the front and rear windshields and roof pillars.
It keeps the regular hatchback’s glass tailgate intact and as such, it won’t detract from the amount of space available in the cabin or the loading area.
Expect to find the same powerplant options as in the closed-top model, including Opel’s new 113hp (115PS) 1.0-liter turdo’d three-cylinder gasoline unit.
