Whereas Tata Motor’s Nexon concept (very) loosely hinted at a possible small crossover addition to its range, there are no such plans for the ConnectNext that was made to show how the brand envisions the future.

The Indian company’s second study for the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 is a range extended electric minivan with minimalistic styling that sports suicide-style rear doors and room for five passengers.

Tata says the four meter-long concept offers a flexible seating layout and all sorts of connectivity and entertainment features for the passengers, including integrated screens at the back, while also showcasing a futuristic approach to how the driver connects and operates the vehicle.

“The car provides minimalistic driver interface along with an electric parking brake, automatic transmission, keyless entry, steering single-linked active indicators and other exciting features like infotainment, navigation, and a touch-enabled centre stack,” reads Tata’s press blurb.
