Besides the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider pre-production study, the Italian carmaker brought along the updated Quadrifoglio Verde versions of the Giulietta and MiTo to the Geneva Motor Show

The most significant changes have taken place under the hood of the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde, which receives the newer aluminum-block 1.75-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from the 4C sports car. Producing 237 hp (240PS) and 340 Nm (250 lb-ft) of torque, the new direct-injected engine is just 5 hp more powerful than the previous unit.

The gearbox changes as well, with the Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde getting Alfa’s TCT six-speed semi-automatic dual-clutch transmission, also from the 4C. No manual gearbox is available. With the new powertrain, the hot Giulietta sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.6 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the previous model with a manual gearbox. Top speed is in excess of 240 km/h (149 mph).

The Giulietta QV gains some subtle exterior tweaks, including larger exhaust tail pipes, different 17- or 18-inch alloy rims, glossy “anthracite” finish for the mirror caps, front grille, door handles and fog light frames. On the inside, the updated model features a revised instrument panel, new leather and Alcantara trim sports seats, redesigned steering wheel with white stitching, and leather gear knob and parking brake lever with white and green stitching.

As for the Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, the revisions are far more modest, restricted to a new Magnesio Grey matte paint, different rear spoiler, new burnished finish for mirror fairings, front grille, door handles, headlight frames and 17-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers.

The cabin gets black leather upholstery with contrasting stitching for the steering wheel, parking brake and gearbox, new instruments with QV logo, Competizione dashboard with “carbon look” finish and new special mats.

Power comes from the same 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol as before. Producing 170PS (168hp), the unit propels the MiTo QV from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, with top speed remaining at 219 km/h (137 mph).
