After checking out our most recently available spy shots of the upcoming Renault Espace and photos of last year’s Initial Paris Concept, we can say with a high degree of certainty that these official patent drawings show the actual production version of the French firm’s large MPV (minivan).
It’s less crossover-ish and futuristic than what Renault implied through the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show concept, while also losing the latter’s suicide style rear doors, but it does have a stronger styling personality than the boxier current model.
Riding on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s new CFM1 modular platform, the French people carrier is likely to be powered by the group’s new generation of downsized and turbocharged engines.
The new Espace should make its world premiere in production form at the Paris Motor Show in October and go on sale shortly after.
