Yesterday, BMW unveiled its 2014 M4 DTM racer, now Audi posted its reply with the RS5 DTM. Displayed for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show, the 2014-spec car features a redesigned complex aerodynamic package that makes it look more aggressive than last year’s car.

The carbon fiber skin may be shaped differently from last year’s car, especially in its lower part, but the Audi RS5 DTM still features typical RS elements. It has the honeycomb grille from the RS5 production car at the front and new air ducts feeding the engine and brakes, being clearly recognizable as an RS model.

The new racecar features exterior mirrors integrated into the aerodynamic concept, closed inner rear wheel arches and a flat rear part.

Work on the car began in May 2013, with the first tests scheduled in Budapest, Hungary (March 31 – April 3) and Hockenheim, Germany (April 14 – April 17), before the series debuts at Hockenheim on May 4.

Audi will field eight cars this year in the DTM, with three teams: Audi Sport Team ABT Sportsline (4 cars), Audi Sport Team Phoenix (2 cars) and Audi Sport Team Rosberg (2 cars).
