Europe’s first major international car show of the year comes at a time when automakers are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel that is the euro-zone crisis. Deliveries in the EU and EFTA market rose for the fifth consecutive month in January by 5 percent to around 968,000 vehicles, with analysts forecasting sales to rise by up to 3 percent in 2014.

This optimism is reflected in the sheer number as well as the diversity of world premieres set for the Geneva show, which range from affordable city cars like the new rear-drive Renault Twingo and Toyota Aygo, to premium newcomers such as the BMW 4-Series Grand Coupe and exotic supercars, including the Lamborghini Huracan.
