Well, folks, it’s the end of spy shots as we know them. You see, automakers will go to great lengths to shield their future models from prying eyes, employing all kind of trickery and deception methods, from artsy vinyl wraps and misleading prints to solid plastic body shells (read our article on that here), but sometimes, it takes a simple idea to bring about a phenomenal change in the industry.
The company that is revolutionizing the way we view future car prototypes from now on, is Nissan’s low-cost brand Datsun, which came up with a brilliant low-cost idea to keep spy photographers at bay (Ford, are you listening?).
Datsun used one of the most modern two-dimensional printing technologies in the world to craft a sign that prohibits automotive Paparazzi from taking any shots of their cars.
You can see how this spy deterrent works on Datsun’s upcoming Lada Granta-based small sedan for the Russian market that will be fully revealed on April 4.
In fact, the decision to poor funds into this top-secret project was made after Russian spies spotted the as-of-yet unnamed Datsun saloon without any camouflage in January, and the results speak for themselves.
