There is absolutely no excuse for drinking and driving, but that doesn’t seem to convince some people not to do it. The state of euphoria induced by alcohol makes humans believe they can easily drive a car. To show that it isn’t at all like that and that alcohol slows reflexes and reaction time, Ford of Europe has developed a suit to simulate the effects of drinking, reducing vision, hearing and reaction times.
Since a Ford survey revealed 56 percent of 17-24 year olds in Europe say they or their friends have driven under the influence and 66 percent of them don’t know the legal alcohol blood level, the carmaker has thought the drink-driving suit would be a tool to increase awareness on the effects alcohol has on driving.
This is why 17 to 24 year olds can try out the drink-driving suit and get useful driving tips at free events organized by Ford across Europe.
