The Isuzu D-Max is one of the most respected pickup trucks in its class, and in order to make it more appealing to UK consumers, the Japanese carmaker is launching the Blade special edition model.

Available exclusively in Britain, the Isuzu D-Max Blade comes with styling and comfort upgrades that together represent a £1,000 saving if the accessories were bought separately. On sale in April, the new special edition is priced from £24,995 (€29,972) with the six-speed manual or £25,995 (€31,172) with the five-speed auto.

Styling enhancements include 18-inch six-spoke “Shadow” alloy wheels shod with 255/60 R18 Pirelli Scorpion Zero tyres, a “Shadow” grey front grille, tinted windows, black door and tailgate handles, black roof bars and rear bumper, as well as heavy-duty side steps. The D-Max Blade is offered with only two body colors, solid “Splash White” or mica “Cosmic Black.”

Standard practical features include an under-rail bed liner and the choice of two hard tops: an Aeroklas hard top complete with internal light or a Mountain Top Black Roller Top Cover that is unique to the Blade and cannot be purchased as a separate accessory.

On the inside, the D-Max Blade has automatic climate control, premium black leather seats (heated at the front), and a DAB digital radio via a Pioneer AVIC-F950 6.1-inch touchscreen navigation system, complete with integrated rear safety camera.

Power comes from the 2.5-liter twin-turbo diesel engine producing 163 PS (161hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Average fuel economy is rated at 38.2 mpg UK (7.4 l/100 km or 31.8 mpg US). The D-Max Blade retains the standard model’s towing capacity of 3.5 tons (7,000-lbs) and 1-ton (2,000-lbs) payload.
