After a teaser-release from Chrysler itself with the manufacturer consumption estimates for the base version of their new 200 sedan earlier this week, official EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) fuel-economy numbers were announced today for all available powertrains.
In base trim with the standard 184hp 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 inline-four and FWD, the 2015 Chrysler 200 is rated by EPA at 23 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 28 mpg combined. According to Chrysler, there’s a 5mpg improvement on the highway versus the outgoing model.
When powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 channeling 295-horses to the front wheels, the 200 returns 19 mpg city, 32 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined. Highway efficiency is 3mpg better than the older V6 car.
Finally, when fitted with the same V6 and all-wheel drive, the new 200 is EPA rated at 18 mpg city, 29 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined.
