The last time we heard of a possible Porsche EV sports car was back in 2011, when the German unveiled the 241hp all-electric Boxster (known as the Boxster E). At the time, they talked at length about electric mobility being one of the challenges of the future and how they will be looking to attack the problem in coming years.
They’ve not really brought it up again, until Germany’s AutoMotorundSport recently had a quick chat with Porsche CEO, Matthias Muller.
He explained straight away that the company was not considering a range extender powertrain, and that their goal is to create a pure all-electric sports car that would travel at least 300 km, but it would be preferable if it could surpass 400 km (250 miles) on a single charge.
Moreover, it was suggested that the company is open to the prospect of such a production car, though no further explanation or a possible introduction date is supplied.
