While Project CARS is a serious-toned racing game, Slightlymad Studios’ second new title, World of Speed, is an entirely different kind of proposition. You may remember a dreadfully unattractive online racing game made under license by a Korean developer but called Need for Speed: World – this plans to be like that, but without the badly sucking part…

They call it “action-styled racing,” so expect an arcadey feel to it

The promise is that you “Build up a garage of unique and competitive cars then take them to the streets to dominate others in fast-paced team-based racing. Take on a specific role in the team and work co-operatively to complete Objectives, earn Driver Score, and level up for big rewards.”

The concept of the game is also built around the creation of a club with your friends “to take ownership of each location in the world domination game mode of Territory Wars.”

It would have been a new and unique concept, had it not been adopted by Test Drive Unlimited 2, Forza Horizon (already released) and the upcoming titles The Crew and the delayed DriveClub.

No release date was specified, but it is “coming 2014.”
