The first reason you buy a Jaguar MKII sedan for is the way it looks. Then there’s the interior comfort, unique overall image and the performance which in its day was very impressive and even today, it can still keep up with many regular cars.

This particular one, currently offered for sale in Orange County, California, has had its 3.8-liter heart ripped out and replaced with a larger 4.2-liter unit from later models, coupled to a four-cog manual gearbox out of an E-Type.

It’s known that the bigger, heavier engine does affect the MKII’s handling, but at least it’s straight line performance will be closer to that of sports saloon from this day and age.

Everything else is pretty much stock and unaltered, and the overall state of the vehicle is reportedly very good.

If you’re interested, the asking price for the car, which has been freshly refurbished both inside and out, is $35,000. Check it out and additional details about it in the Craigslist ad.
