Featuring the new DS styling shown on the Wild Rubis concept, the Citroen DS WR6 is a bold looking crossover. Designed to do well in China, alongside the 5LS sedan, it’s set to debut at the Beijing motor show.
The vehicle you see in the photos below is the actual production-ready car that will be made available to the PRC’s car buying public soon after its reveal. According to Citroen, it’s 4.55m long, 1.86m wide and 1.61m tall, with a wheelbase of 2.73m.
However, despite the chunky looks and wide, menacing flared flanks, this car will only be offered with front-wheel drive. Yes, it gets PSA’s patented Grip Control system, but I tried putting that to the test in a Peugeot 3008 once and got stuck on some damp grass…
Still, this two-wheel drive only layout does have advantages: improved fuel efficiency through lower weight and less drivetrain loss, as well as lower mechanical complexity that allows for a lower price. This emphasizes the priority and the character of the DS sub-brand: all show and only some go…
Engines available will be the e-THP 160 and THP 200 petrol units, both mated to mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
More details and photos will be made available after the reveal.
