Thank you David Brown Automotive for creating the beautiful shape of the Speedback two-door, the first ever model to be rolled out by the newly-founded company. It’s a car whose look is most inspired by old Aston Martins, although there are hints of 1960s Jaguars and Ferraris in there too, plus it rides on Jaguar underpinnings.
It’s a car that promises sweet 1960s styling, coupled with the chassis from an XKR and its 503hp V8 to push it along. However, you’d never know it looking at the car that it’s related to the Jaguar, because it just looks so different.
The end result turned out so mouthwatering because it was the result of passionate people pouring all of their creative energy into the project, and that shows in this business. They did not necessarily do it to sell many cars (they won’t build any more than 50 per year) but to make a truly unique shape from the golden age of car design, but one riding on modern suspension, with modern brakes and continent crossing reliability.
You watch the video posted below, courtesy of X-Car, and by the end, you may simply want one.
Let’s hope it lives up to the hype and doesn’t end up costing an outrageous amount, because otherwise people will also have the option to visit the Eagle shop too.
