If you prefer the Chevy bow-tie and GM’s dealer and service network from what Nissan has to offer with the NV200, the 2015 Chevrolet City Express will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year with a starting price of $22,950, including a $995 destination charge.
The base price for the City Express is $1,800 more than what the Japanese firm asks for the entry-level version of its van at $21,150 with delivery included.
Chevrolet’s entry in the small cargo van segment is a re-badged version of the Nissan NV200 with a slightly different face, offering the same standard 2.0L inline-four-cylinder engine rated at 131hp and 139 lb-ft of torque, 122.7 cubic feet of cargo space, and an estimated payload capacity of 1,500 pounds (680 kg).
According to Chevy, the City Express LS comes with the following standard features:
“Dual rear sliding doors, power windows, 40/60 split rear cargo doors that open 90 and 180 degrees, solid rear doors with available tinted-glass windows, center console storage with a standard file folder bin, fold-down mobile workspace passenger seat, 20 interior cargo-mounting points, six floor-mounted D-rings, six exterior roof rack mounting points, vinyl flooring, a 150-amp alternator and a 12-volt power outlet.”
The other available trim level is the LT that starts at $24,510 with destination charges included, and which adds cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, backup sensor, remote keyless entry with an automatic locking feature and heated, power-adjustable outside mirrors.
On the options list for the LT there’s a technology package with a 5.8-inch touch-screen radio, navigation, Sirius/XM Satellite Radio with a three-month subscription, Bluetooth, USB input jack and a rearview camera system.
