In a second move after announcing the name and revealing the face of its new XE compact executive sedan during the 2014 Geneva motor show in early March, Jaguar is now promoting the launch through its consumer websites, with the UK page also confirming the availability of its latest supercharged V6 engines.
“The XE features a range of engine capacities and outputs for different drivers, including the F-TYPE’s roaring V6, all built at our new facility in the UK,” reads the page.
Jaguar didn’t elaborate on whether the XE would get both or one of the two versions of the F-Type’s 3.0-liter Supercharged V6 mills, rated for 335hp (340PS / 250kW) and 375hp (380PS / 280kW) respectively.
Besides the V6, we know that the XE will also be offered with the Jaguar-Land Rover Group’s upcoming four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine family called Ingenium.
On its consumer website, the British firm states: “Choose either the outright performance of 300km/h [186mph] top speeds or emissions of less than 100g of CO2 per km.”
The new Jaguar XE is scheduled for release next year and will take on rivals like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Cadillac ATS, Lexus IS and Mercedes C-Class.
