And by more affordable we mean half the price of an Agera (~$650,000/€420,000), but still very expensive compared to regular supercars. It would obviously have to retain its Koenigsegg qualities and traits, but it would make the brand ever so slightly more popular or mainstream.

The news was made public by Motoring who had a brief chat with company founder, Christian von Koenigsegg, on the sidelines of the New York motor show.

It will still be a very high performance vehicle, naturally, and one that should at least rival the Lamborghini Aventador, for instance, a car that would be around half the price, if the above numbers turn out to be accurate.

Definitely an intriguing prospect and it’s one we’ll be keeping an eye out for. It would be an obvious move by Koenigsegg, which first released really-really expensive cars to build up funds and get the company going, and now it has gained more expertise to start considering this new (lower) sector of the market.
