Hardly anybody has been given the chance to drive the Ferrari LaFerrari and we hear that the Italian manufacturer is already looking at creating an even more extreme version of the car, one that would end in ‘XX’. It’s not clear how they would improve on it, but apparently the intention has already been made public.
Australia’s Drive tells us that it extracted the information from Antonello Coletta, who is “the head of Ferrari’s Sporting Activity Department that oversees all non-Formula One racing activities for the brand.” He confirmed it outright, saying “ Now we are working on the new hypercar for the circuit, the LaFerrari XX. I hope that the new car will arrive on the circuit in January or February of next year.”
No decisions have yet been made as to how to make a LaFerrari XX, given that it was a challenge to get the regular car up to the very high performance standard it’s rated at.
Coletta also announced, responding to a question, that Ferrari is not looking at getting back into Le Mans, and they’ll keep focusing their brightest engineering minds on Formula 1 for the foreseeable future.
