Great Wall Motors’ sub-brand Haval, which specializes on SUVs, introduced its newest and largest model-to-date at the Beijing Auto Show, the H9. Haval states that the H9 is “the first high-end luxury SUV model with strong cross-country performance in China” – whatever that means…

The new H9 sports a fairly modern exterior and interior styling (but one that you could easily confuse with any modern Japanese SUV), and a traditional body-on-frame construction.

When it goes on sale in China later this year, the seven-seater model will offer two powertrain options, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four delivering 215hp (218PS) paired to a 6-speed automatic, and a larger and more potent 329hp (333PS) 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission

Among other highlights mentioned by Haval is a four-wheel drive system with an electronic limited slip differential lock, a “TELEMATICS Internet of Vehicles system” and rear-seat entertainment.
