A pair of lovely classic Aston Martin DBS models in barn-find condition will be seeking a new home at Silverstone Auctions’ Restoration Show Sale that takes place on Saturday, April 12, at the NEC in Birmingham, UK.
Both cars are estimated to fetch between £20,000 and £25,000 (about US$33,330 to US$41,600 or €24,100 to €30,200).
The oldest model is a rare 1969 DBS Vantage with a manual gearbox, one of only 70 right-hand drive models in this specification. It has a 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine with triple Webers rated for 325bhp at 5,750rpm.
The auction house says it has had two owners from new, with the last person who acquired the car in 2002 using it only for a year before storing it in a garage where it sat for more than a decade.
“Largely untouched, the car is in highly original condition and has survived storage remarkably well with the engine still turning over,” says Silverstone Auctions.
The second DBS is a 1970 Series I model finished in Dubonnet Rosso with tan leather interior and fitted with a 5.3-liter V8 mill producing 320bhp at 5,000rpm, which in theory, can push the car to over 160mph (257km/h).
It has only 27,700 miles on the odometer and was last registered in 2004, having been parked in a garage for an entire decade.
“It’s not often we find two exciting models in one place and these cars present a fantastic opportunity to acquire fast appreciating examples of the marque in rare and highly desirable specification with impeccable history,” said Nick Whale, managing director at Silverstone Auctions
