Last time we showed the future gaming title Next Car Game was in January, when the developers were still ironing bugs out of the physics engine. All they had imported ingame at that time was a physics engine test area and a demolition derby ring; now they have an actual track imported and it looks like a lot of fun.
It’s clear that this game won’t be for everybody, as it doesn’t necessarily aim to be a pure-bread simulation. However, its emphasis on car control and fun will definitely find fans, as will the super-advanced damage that is up there with Beam NG for realism.
What you see below is a gameplay video showing a part-tarmac, part-gravel track with a pack of (AI-controlled) cars battling it out for first place.
If you liked the Flat Out series, the Burnout series and even the older demolition derby-style games, then you’ll definitely find some enjoyment in this new title as well.
I also found a cool little video from developer Bugbear Entertainment. It was uploaded late last year and it shows what lengths studios can go to in the pursuit of realism; nothing beats field work, even in the gaming industry…
