The Volkswagen Phaeton – that VW-badged Bentley Continental / Audi A8, will be back in the US in 2018 (or 2019). This is not speculation, and it was announced by the new CEO of the Wolfsburg brand’s North American arm, Michael Horn.
Horn did not reveal any specifics, and even the year is an estimate. However, it clearly is being brought back as a flagship model for VW, and one that builds upon the decent image the Phaeton managed to achieve while it remained on sale in the States.
The model they will be bringing over won’t be the facelifted first-gen car that’s still on sale in Europe and other markets at the moment. Most likely candidate is the all-new Phaeton, which has been confirmed and partially detailed; all that was missing was the approximate time frame which was just added, via the Bloomberg video below, the source of the news.
