For those who own one, the VW Kombi is not just a car; it’s a member of the family in its own right. It is one of the world’s most recognizable vehicles and part of popular culture, as it was the vehicle of choice for the hippy movement worldwide. Sadly, VW has decided to pull the plug on the Kombi, which was still produced in Brazil until recently.
The last VW Kombi produced was sent to a Hanover museum in Germany, but the carmaker somehow decided there was something more it needed to do for a proper goodbye.
This is how the documentary titled “Kombi Last Wishes” was born. Narrated by the VW Kombi itself (it’s a she, by the way), the film tells the story of the model’s life and ends with its…last wishes.
While it may sound ludicrous to some, the video is quite touching and represents a wonderful tribute to the strong bond between man and (some) machines.
