It’s anyone’s guess if Audi would feel flattered or offended about a BMW model borrowing their Sportback moniker, but this concept wasn’t made by the Bavarians, so it doesn’t really matter, now, does it? The pictured BMW Sportback Concept is the finalized work of industrial designer Ismet Çevik.
We first caught a glimpse of the Turkish designer’s BMW project last October when he released a handful of preliminary renders.
The design blends BMW’s more recent styling cues and overall DNA from a number of models like the i8 Coupe and 6-Series Gran Coupe, and even the M3 E30’s flared fenders, into a body that seems to be as big as the 7-Series.
I’d say the best looking part of the car is the front end from the A-pillar and forth, as the rest of the body, and especially the rear, has odd proportions, at least when viewed from certain angles, but I guess that could be fixed.
What say you?
