The Porsche Panamera Turbo S is hardly a typical contender for the Ariel Atom 3.5 Supercharged. The German car weighs almost four times more than the British track toy: 1,995 kilograms (4,398 lbs) compared to 550 kg (1,212 lbs).

However, the Porsche makes up for the weight deficit thanks to its turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 that produces 562 hp (570PS). That’s almost double the 310hp produced by the Atom’s supercharged 2.0-liter Honda engine. EVO justifies this drag race by the fact that both cars have similar straight-line performance numbers.

On paper, the Panamera Turbo S sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, while the Ariel Atom covers the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in under 3 seconds. But will these figures be confirmed on the drag strip? Head past the break to find out.
