Were you to pick one modern BMW M-car that is closest to the company’s core philosophy of providing its driver with the most competent handling sports car possible, which would it be? Would you go for any of the larger M5 or M6 models, or would it be one of the new M3/M4 models? How about the upcoming M2, a car that looks really sweet with its psychedelic flared fenders and blue calipers.
Just spotted testing around the Nurburgring, the M2 is believed to get a 3.0-liter turbocharged-six with around 370-horses, which would place it squarely between the M235i and M3/M4 models. Imagine, though, that a lot more can be (easily) extracted out of these newfangled turbocharged units…
Evidently, drawing its power from the same 3.0-liter straight-six as the other cars mentioned above, it sounds just as dull as they do, though it may be my ears playing tricks, but it’s not exactly the same noise as the M3/M4 or M235i.
